This one turned out even worse quality than the Haze one! I think it's because the colors for this are much softer than those on the other picture, so the lighting made it hard for the camera to pick up.
Anyway, this is the FINALLY COLORED version of [link]
which has the honor of being my FIRST piece of art to be stolen! I reported
so now the picture was taken off (the link on the lineart is now broken).
It took me forever to figure out a suitable background for this picture. Eventually I decided they'd just be hanging out on a towel at the beach. The reasons are various. This was my 2nd time painting on watercolor paper, and I'm sure it shows, but it was really fun! I had to experiment a lot on creating good texture for both cats while keeping them black and white.
White kitty is a boy named Sable. Black kitty is a girl named Elie. Cutest thing ever.
Since this picture was painted in similar circumstances to when it was sketched (nearly a year ago), a lot of the same feelings went into it. This is a gift art for
who is the closest, best, and dearest friend I have ever had. She has sacrificed much for me, perhaps more than I will ever be able to repay, and that only ensures that I can never think of her as a mere friend by typical standards. What we share is unique, what we have conquered together... and the many times when she has rescued me from my own weaknesses. Here's to unexpected lessons learned, and to giving more than most ever would... because in doing so, we gain much more and love much more than most ever would.
